LED chips are rated for approximately 100,000 hours — over 11 years of 24/7 operation. Practical service life depends on brightness settings and environment; running at 60-80% brightness significantly extends usable life.

Q3. What is the difference between COB and SMD?

SMD mounts packaged LED chips on the board surface — cost-effective but vulnerable to impact (bead drop-off). COB bonds bare chips directly onto the board and seals the entire surface with resin — flat, durable, moisture-resistant, and ideal for fine pitch below P1.5. XIV specializes in COB.
